• As a way to minimize crime, different crime control approaches have been developed by criminal justice agencies. The strategy focuses on addressing two significant facts evident in the modern crime debates and the associated control policies. The first one involves many individuals committing most of the crimes and managing overcrowding prisons (Martin, & Sherman, 1986). The strategies identified in the module focus on selective apprehension that focuses on repeat offenders and its effectiveness in addressing these issues. Similarly, the approaches focus on identification and incapacitating individuals who prove to be career criminals.
